    Projects

    • This feature allows documents such as sales invoices and purchase orders to be logged in a project. Resultantly, a project will have its own trial balance and P&L.

    • A number of projects can be created at the same time, these individual projects can be linked to a parent project.

    • You can import and export projects to and from excel, for further information please click here

    • The screenshot below shows a sample grid of the projects finder, which includes some key information.

    Grid information explained
    • Project group: The project group determines the defaults adopted, for more information please see project groups.
    • Parent project: A number of sub-projects can be in operation under a parent project.
    • Timesheets, Tasks and Parent: these columns will be ticked if the project enables these features.
    Tip

    To modify the columns displayed, select in the top right of the page, then untick the information you do not want to see.


    Create a new Project

    1. Press New.

    2. Fill out the required fields based on your needs.

      Note

      The project group selected will inherit the defaults that were set for the project group.

    3. Check the tabs.

    • Milestone
    • Resources
    • Defaults
    • Documents
    • PO's
    • SO's
    • P/L
    • Committed
    • Committed TB
    • TB
    • Timesheets
    • Timesheets TB
    • You can add multiple milestones to a project by pressing then filling out the selection criteria.

    • It is possible to restrict which resource can view the project by adding resource and/ or resource groups

    • NB. If no resource is specified then no resource restrictions are applied

    • Press then add resources either individuals or groups by selecting them then pressing the single chevron.

    • The project defaults are set in this section.

    • Once the project has been created and is in use, any documents created for this project will be listed here.

    Once the project has been created and is in use, any sales orders created for this project will be listed here.

    Once the project has been created and is in use, the project will have its own P/L. This tab will store the projects P/L. Alternatively a list of all projects P&L's are kept in Project P/L.

    • Once the project has been created and is in use, the project will have its own trial balance. This tab will store the projects trial balance. Alternatively, a list of all projects trial balances are kept in Project TB.
